A lot is happening on the area of approx. 66 km2.
There is hardly a more beautiful setting for a stroll through the city
Narrow streets and wide squares – here you can feel the history of the archbishops and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart right away. This city knows how to inspire visitors and locals again and again.
You can shop to your heart’s content, linger in cafes and restaurants or enjoy culture and museums. Favorite spots included!
The city of Salzburg nestles on the banks of the Salzach against the four city mountains Kapuzinerberg, Mönchsberg, Rainberg and Festungsberg. On the steep flanks of the Kapuzinerberg there is even the only chamois colony in a European city.
In the summer weeks, the old town itself becomes a stage, as it were, and hosts the world-renowned cultural festival “Salzburg Festival”. Numerous international stars and grandiose premieres make operas, plays and concerts an unforgettable experience for all those interested in culture.
The city also knows how to inspire at Christmas time. The Salzburg Christmas Market can actually always be found in the top 10 best Advent markets worldwide. There are also worthwhile markets in other places, such as Hellbrunn or Mirabell.
The unique architectural ensemble of the city, in combination with the history, brought the 150,000 inhabitants of the city into the list of the UNESCO world cultural heritage in 1997.
For inspiration, I will help you to conquer the city with the SALZBURG GUIDE. Online, but also printed as a handy booklet, the guide guides you through the city’s districts and shows a wide range of shops and restaurants. There is something for everyone – be it cool shopping, enjoyable food or fascinating exhibitions.
This is how Salzburg becomes your overall personal experience and that’s what it’s about for me.
